Description
This zine is about what it has felt like for me to heal, slowly but surely, from complex trauma. It’s not a how-to guide, more of an exploration of questions like: What is emotional stability like? What is it like to be present in your body? What is it like to rest? What is it like to be in relationships of care? How do things feel different now, from day to day, after so much time and work and healing? It focuses throughout on how the process of healing has helped me better live out my values of community and solidarity, and touches on topics like sobriety and recovery, transition, somatic practice, antiracism, and the importance of weird art.
I did my best to write something that would have been helpful for me to read ten years ago, when I started this work, and I hope it helps you along your way too.
It’s a big hefty zine! 18K words, 72 pages, half-letter size, took me like three years to write.
This listing is for a digital version. You’ll receive 2 PDF files, one set up to read on your screen, one set up to print. You can buy a print version here.
When you buy a digital zine, I ask that you think of it in the same way as buying a print copy, meaning that you use it pretty much just for personal use. I’m happy for you to print out a copy for your own use or to share with a friend, but please don’t share or distribute either print or PDF versions more broadly, including by posting the PDF online. If you are interested in distributing it, or using it in an workshop/educational/group setting, get in touch and I’d be glad to chat about that!
Beautiful cover illustration is by Fruitblush.
